The Lake County Board of County Commissioners is wrapping up its budget workshops for Fiscal Year 2018 at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11 at the Board Chambers, located on the second floor of the County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Tavares. The board will discuss the tentative millage and adopt the TRIM (Truth in Millage) rates. TRIM rates can be lowered, but not raised, once placed on the notices.
Each August, the Lake County Property Appraiser’s office mails property owners TRIM notices, which contain information about property taxes. The TRIM notice lists the taxable value of each property and provides information on proposed millage rates and taxes as estimated by each Lake County taxing authority, which includes the County Commission, School Board, municipalities and others. The Lake County Property Appraiser’s Office also uploads the TRIM notices for all properties in Lake County to its website atwww.lakecopropappr.com.
