Dillard Prater, 81 of Summerfield, FL, formally of Harlan, KY, passed away July 13, 2017 at the Villages Hospital.
He was retired from the Harlan County Board of Education.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Katie Prater of Hueysville, KY; sisters Norma Boone, Gloria Jean Prater; and brother Curtis Prater.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Prater; son Michael (Suzanne) of Georgetown, KY; grandchildren Jacob Prater and Kaitlin Prater; sister Minnie Conley of Hueysville, KY, Augusta Prater of Mount Sterling, KY, John Prater (Freida) of Barbourville, KY, Ray Prater (Dollie), Longs, SC, Otis Prater of Berea, KY, Hascal Prater (Elvie) of Hueysville, KY.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Oxford, FL. Funeral will be immediately following with Pastor Mike Dameron and Pastor Emeritus Jerry Montgomery presiding. The service will be streamed online at www.ibctv.org. The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
