A Harbor Hills man reported last week that someone had obtained a Bank of America debit card with his account number.

The man received a text message from Bank of America notifying him of potential fraud, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. When he contacted Bank of America, he was told a new debit card had been obtained with his information in July.

There had been a $600 withdrawal at an unknown ATM. There were then two transactions that were unsuccessful, a $2,482 purchase at an unknown Wal-Mart and an $800 ATM withdrawal.

The debit card had been obtained when an account was opened at a Bank of America in Miami Gardens.
