A pair of two female suspects reportedly made off with prepaid gifts cards Wednesday afternoon at the Wal-Mart in Summerfield.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Wal-Mart located at 17961 S Hwy. 441 in reference to a grand theft, according to an incident report. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the store’s loss preventions officer who advised that around 12:10 p.m, two black females entered the store and picked up prepaid gift cards and hid them inside a magazine, the report stated.
The loss prevention officer advised that the suspects took the remaining gift cards along with the magazine to the smoke shop aisle. She then advised the suspects requested the cashier to load the gift cards, in which the cashier loaded the cards and placed them on the bagging carousel. The officer also advised when the cashier turned around since both suspects asked for cigarette items, one of the suspects quickly switched the activated gift cards with the gift cards that were hidden inside of the magazine, leaving the inactivated gift cards on the bagging carousel and taking the loaded gift cards. The two suspects then left the cashier without paying for the gift cards, passing all points of sale and exited the store.
The loss prevention officer advised the suspects fled in a silver Hyundai or Toyota.
