To the Editor:

A Los Angeles County Grand Jury concluded that “high speed police chases cause unnecessary deaths and injuries – 17 percent ended in a crash and 1 in 10 resulted in civilian injuries or deaths.”
A study by the International Association of Police Chiefs concluded that “91 percent of high speed chases were for non-violent crimes and 42 percent were the result of a traffic infraction.”
The tragic death of a local woman should not have occurred because of a chase instituted over illegally tinted windows. How do we get this message to our local law enforcement officials?
