A man was taken by his girlfriend to The Villages Regional Hospital on Aug. 26 after accidentally shooting himself in the knee at a home in Lady Lake.
The 23-year-old New Port Richey man was at his girlfriend’s home on Tara Oaks Circle and had been cleaning two guns, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
A Ruger 9mm accidentally discharged, striking the man in the knee. His girlfriend drove him to the hospital.
Police went to the home and secured the guns.
