A counterfeit bill turned up at Diamond Oil in Ocala after a man attempted to use it to buy a 12-pack of beer.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded Wednesday to Diamond Oil service station located at 1952 NE 35th St. in reference to an employee discovering a counterfeit bill, according to an incident report. The employee told the deputy that a white male entered the store at around 3:45 p.m. and wanted to purchase a 12-pack of beer. The employee concluded the bill was a phony.
The deputy seized the bogus bill and placed it into evidence.
