Dunkin Donuts in Ocala re-opens after failing recent state health inspection

A Dunkin Donuts location in Ocala has re-opened after failing a recent state health inspection.

The Dunkin Donuts on SW College Road was shut down on Aug. 29 after roaches and flying insects were discovered in the kitchen, according to an inspection report on file with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

“Four live roaches on floor under prep table in back room. One live roach on wall behind ice machine. Two live roaches on wall behind prep table in back room. One live roach on floor near back room,” the inspector wrote in his report.

Also, food was not being stored at the proper temperature. The high-priority violation was considered by the inspector to be “potentially hazardous.” Eggs were being stored at 54 degrees, sausage was stored at 56 degree and chicken salad was stored at 47 degrees.

The Dunkin Donuts location was permitted to re-open after corrective action was taken.
