Wildwood police responded to 112 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. in reference to a physical altercation in progress, according to an arrest report. An investigation revealed that 36-year-old Sophia Latoya Green got into a vehicle with one of her children and drove to the victim’s residence with the sole intention of physically assaulting the victim, thus placing the minor in a potentially dangerous and violent environment. While Green was involved in the physical altercation, she failed to provide adequate supervision to children present during the altercation, during which time one of the children was stabbed twice in her back by one of the involved parties. During the course of the investigation, Green spontaneously pronounced that she went to the victim’s residence to “fight her” and also omitted taking one of her minor children with her to the fight, which Green eventually agreed to placing one of her children in a volatile environment. Her failure to provide reasonable supervision to a second minor child, who became involved in the physical altercation, resulted in the child being injured.

Green was placed under arrest and was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $2,500 bond.
