Man claims woman tried to run him over in dispute over tree-trimming job

A man claimed a woman tried to run him over Sunday in a dispute over a tree-trimming job at her home.

The man contacted the Marion County Sheriff’s Office after seeking refuge at the Circle K service station on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Summerfield.

He said he had been walking on U.S. Hwy. 441 when the woman spotted him and drove over a median and pointed her pickup truck at him, according to an incident report from the sheriff’s office. The man said the woman attempted to run him over.

The man had earlier been at the woman’s home for a tree-cutting job. The man had told the woman the tree was too old to be cut down. The woman insisted and as he was cutting on the tree, a branch fell through the roof of the home, the incident report indicated.
