The Villages Threshold Choir will be performing a demo at Lake Miona Recreation Center on Friday, Oct. 13.
The Villages Threshold Choir is a one-year-old vocal group that sings in groups of three or four around Florida’s Friendliest Hometown. It is part of a larger volunteer service group called Threshold Choir.
The volunteer service group sings to patients by their bedsides in assisted living and memory care facilities. They visit the Cornerstone Hospice House, Mission Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care and Sumter Place.
What makes this choir group different in their craft is how they deliver their songs. By singing in soft, gentle a cappella, the group strives to offer peace and comfort to the patients they serve.
The demo will start at 1 p.m. The group is interested in inviting more people who would like to take part in singing with them.
Attendants to this event can enter a drawing for the opportunity to sit in a zero gravity recliner and be sung to by the group.
