FHP looking for vehicle that left man seriously injured in Marion County

The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash Monday night that left a man seriously injured in Marion County.

Christopher Peters of Silver Springs had been walking north along County Road 314 at 7:30 p.m. when a black pick-up truck also traveling north, veered east, off the roadway. The right side of the vehicle struck Peters. After the collision, the black pick-up truck left the scene of the crash. Black vehicle parts, including a passenger side mirror, were found at the scene. A witness at the scene provided information on the truck. Anyone with further information about this crash is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol.

Peters was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
