Armed robbers hit Pizza Hut in Ocala

An armed robbery reportedly took place at a Pizza Hut in Ocala on Monday evening.

Around 9:47 p.m., multiple Marion County Sheriff’s Office units responded to the Pizza Hut located at 9264 SE Maricamp Road in reference to an armed robbery, according to an incident report. An MCSO deputy that was first to arrive on scene made contact with the victim and her co-worker who advised that the business had been robbed, the report stated. The victim told the deputy that as she was exiting the bathroom, located in the front of the store, she observed two males approach from the northwest area and entered the restaurant. She stated that the second suspect that entered was armed with a handgun, which he then pointed at her. The victim told the deputy that one of the suspects then stated, “Give me all the money.”

As the suspect armed with the pistol stood in front of the cash register, the unarmed suspect walked behind the counter. The victim stated she then opened the register and placed the contents of the register into the bag while the suspect held it. The two suspects then fled the location on foot.
