You can own a noteworthy piece of rock & roll history: a guitar donated by and signed by all the seven members of the band Kansas. And, you’ll have your pictures taken with the classic rock and roll group following their concert on Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center.
The guitar will be taken home by the lucky winner of the raffle sponsored by Villagers for Veterans with all proceeds earmarked for the organization’s efforts on behalf of injured veterans.
Raffle tickets will be sold in the Sharon lobby immediately before the performance and the winner will be announced during the show. Tickets for the show are still available.
“This is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to proudly possess an exceptional piece of memorabilia that can’t be purchased,” said Marie Bogdonoff, president of Villagers for Veterans. “Our clients and club members are honored that the musicians of Kansas have endorsed our charitable initiatives, and deeply appreciate their thoughtfulness.’
The Villagers for Veterans had been contacted by the Kansas manager Joe Banford who arranges for similar donations to organizations that assist veterans at each of the Band’s concert sites.
The unique fundraiser follows last week’s very successful Tribute to Bob Hope USO Tour Gala that netted $11,000 for the non-profit group.
The performance in The Villages is part of Kansas’ 40th Anniversary Leftoverture Tour. The band has sold more than 30 million records, and earned eight gold records and three sextuple-platinum albums.
