A convicted felon living in Lady Lake was arrested after he was found to be in possession of a pair of knives.
Allen Burdette Russell, 59 of 354 Ivanhoe Circle, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by Leesburg police after he was spotted carrying a bag which held a small folding knife and a double-edged fixed blade knife in a leather sheaf. He had been spotted near My Secret Closet on Main Street in downtown Leesburg.
He had been convicted in 2013 in connection with a stolen car case in Rock Island County in Illinois. In 2016, also in Rock Island County in Illinois, he was convicted of driving while his license was suspended on a drunk driving charge.
He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $10,000 bond.
