An arrest has been made in a shooting that occurred on Monday in Ocala.
Ocala police arrested Paul Boimageebah Jalieba for the shooting that occurred on SW 7th Place in which three men, including Jalieba, were shot, according to a media release.
The incident began when Jalieba was riding his bicycle in the 1800 block of SW 7th Place and started a verbal altercation with a man in front of the man’s residence. Jalieba pulled a gun, fired the weapon and shot the man in his legs and arm. An innocent bystander was also shot when he was in the front yard working on a vehicle at the time of the altercation.
Jalieba fled the scene on foot but was confronted and detained by two citizens in the 2000 block of SW 7th Place until OPD arrived. Jalieba was found to have been shot as well, but it is not clear when and at what location he had been shot.
His firearm was recovered and he has been charged with aggravated battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. All three men are in stable condition.
