A 22-year-old was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after causing a crash on Monday in Marion County.
Megan Leigh Sain of Dunnellon was driving a 2013 Hyundai Sonata southbound on U.S. 41 when her vehicle struck the rear of a 2017 Nissan NV3500 driven by 23-year-old Victoria Renee Valente of Homosassa, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. The impact caused Sain’s vehicle to rotate out of control and come to final rest on the west grass shoulder of U.S. 41, while Valente’s vehicle came to rest on the east grass shoulder.
Sain was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, while her fellow passenger 18-year-old Kira Lynn Sain was also transported to ORMC for serious injuries.
Sain was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail. Bond was set at $13,000.
