A man was arrested in an alleged attack on a woman on Sunday at Circle K in Summerfield.
Marion County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Circle K located on 14870 South U.S. Hwy. 441 in reference to a battery reported by an employee, according to the arrest report. The employee told deputies that a man, later identified as 40-year-old Anthony Michael Viktora of Summerfield, battered a woman in a white car at one of the gas pumps. Deputies spoke with the victim, who stated that she was not battered and did not need any law enforcement assistance. She told deputies that she and Viktora were arguing. The victim was crying, had her arm in a homemade sling and appeared to have blood on her left jacket sleeve. Deputies also observed a possible bruise on the outside of her left eye, to which she stated was just her mascara running.
The store’s clerk called 911 when an eyewitness told the clerk that Viktora had battered the victim and observed Viktora bringing the victim back to the vehicle.
Viktora stated he did not batter the victim and that he was trying to get the car keys from her so he could drive home. He also said he did try to grab the victim to bring her to the car.
Deputies reviewed parking lot security footage and observed the victim and Viktora inside the vehicle as well as a lot of body movement, but they could not determine if battery was taking place due to the video’s quality. The footage then shows the victim exiting the vehicle and Viktora grabbing her several times to turn her back toward the vehicle.
Vikotra was placed under arrest and was transported to Marion County Jail.
