Incumbent Community Development District supervisor latest to signal he’s running again

Community Development District 8 Supervisor Duane Johnson is the latest to signal he’s running for another term this November.

The Village of St. Charles resident recently pre-filed paperwork with the Sumter County Supervisor of Elections Office.

In 2014, the then-incumbent supervisor lost his seat in an upset by Ray Banks Jr.

In 2016, Banks resigned his seat when questions were raised about his residency. Johnson applied for and won appointment to the seat left vacant after Banks’ resignation.

Several other CDD supervisors have also signaled their intention to run again.
