Lake County Board of County Commissioners to begin budget workshops on April 24

The Lake County Board of County Commissioners is inviting the public to attend Fiscal Year 2019 budget workshops, to be held between April and June.

The first budget workshop is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24 inside the Board Chambers, located on the second floor of the County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Tavares. Offices to be discussed will include Building Services, Planning & Zoning, Code Enforcement and Parks and Trails.

Budget workshops will continue through June 19 on various topics related to governmental operations including Fire Rescue, the Lake County Animal Shelter, Solid Waste and more. Additional upcoming dates involving the budget and TRIM (Truth in Millage) notices, are available online atwww.lakecountyfl.gov/departments/fiscal_and_administrative_services/budget.

The fiscal year of Lake County’s annual budget is Oct. 1 through Sept. 30. The Office of Management & Budget is committed to accounting for and managing public funds appropriately and openly, recommending effective and efficient financial plans, and ensuring adequate funding is available to carry forward programs as directed by the Board of County Commissioners.
