An Ocala woman was arrested at the Northgate Apartments on Monday and charged with domestic battery and criminal mischief.
According to a Marion County Sheriff’s Office report, Catherine A. Shaw was taken into custody after an altercation that left her with two cuts to her right forearm and a knot above her left eye.
Shaw said the argument ensued over phone messages. She admitted to hitting the victim and claimed that he pinned her down on the floor, which caused the knot over her eye. She said she banged her head against the wall, which caused the other injury. And she punched a window at the apartment, causing $150 damage, the report says.
After deputies determined that Shaw was the aggressor, she was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail after receiving treatment for her injuries at Timber Ridge Medical Center. The victim refused to make a written statement, the report adds.
