Hammett Bowen Jr. Elementary School

A teacher at Hammett Bowen Jr. Elementary School in Ocala contacted the Marion County Sheriff’s Office after a student allegedly saw a first-grader expose his private parts.

According to a sheriff’s office report, the teacher spoke with the school’s principal and then contacted the Florida Department of Children and Families. The teacher also said that the juvenile who allegedly exposed himself was a visiting student from another class whose teacher was not at the school at time of the incident.

The principal talked with the parents of both students and then suspended the juvenile for four days.

The deputy contacted the Department of Children and Families and was told that a report already had been filed. The deputy also sent an email to the crisis intervention specialist unit and the juvenile division of the sheriff’s office to make them aware of the incident, the report says.
