
On the early morning of May 8, 2018, God sent his heavenly angel to Florida Hospital Waterman to claim a beautiful rose from his garden, Mrs. Eliza C. McKoy.
Mrs. Eliza C. McKoy, was the youngest child born under the union of the late James and Timothy Cameron on the 23rd day of July 1943 in Harnett County, North Carolina.
Eliza (Lisa, Liza. Mom, Auntie) grew up in North Carolina and attended Norrington A.M.E. Zion Church in Lillington, North Carolina. Upon finishing high school she ventured to Newark, New Jersey where that was considered her home for numerous years. Upon leaving Newark, she then returned home to care for her parents. Eliza joined Cameron Grove A.M.E. Zion Church in Broadway, NC where she was a member of the Faithful Stars Choir and also on the Usher Board. After retiring from Coty, Inc. in 2006, Eliza relocated with her husband, Neil A. McKoy Sr., to their retirement home in Leesburg, FL. She moved her membership to Christ United Methodist Church where she was a very active member of the choir, the Usher Board, the Worship Committee and the kitchen staff. Eliza enjoyed life and was the caregiver for her mother until their transition.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; two brothers James Clifton and Buddy Cameron and one son Dennis L. McKoy.
She leaves to her cherished memories her husband, Mr. Neil A. McKoy, Sr., one son, Neil A. McKoy, Jr. (Latonia) of Garner, NC; one daughter Lavinia McKoy of Newark, NJ; one aunt, Mildred R. McLean of Greensboro, NC; three nephews, Jessie Cameron (Angie) of Stockbridge, GA, Sidney Atkins (Joan) of Sanford, NC and Clifton Williams of Baltimore, MD; two special nieces, Rena Cameron-Ray, of Bunnlevel, NC, Ashley Hill of Marietta, GA; one special God-daughter, Alexandria Cameron of Richardson, Texas; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
