
Kenneth J. Dobson, 70, of The Villages, FL, passed away, Friday, May 25, 2018. Ken was born in Chicago, IL, and resided in Wauconda, IL before moving to The Villages in 2014.
He served his tour of duty in the Army during the Vietnam War at Da Nang Air Base.
Ken was an avid fresh water fisherman, spending hours on Lake Erie fishing for Walleyes. Ken belonged to Walleyes Unlimited, U.S.A.
After moving to The Villages, he fished for trophy bass on the St. Johns River, Lake Griffin and Lake Harris. Ken also enjoyed golf and bowling with family and friends. Ken was a member of the American Legion Post 347 in Lady Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; son Ken and granddaughter McKenna; brothers Walter (Carmela) and Don (Missy), sisters Janet Hickey (Michael), Bonnie Piotrowski (Donald) and Joan Hiller (Ron). Father-in-law, George Fluger, brother-in-law Jeffery Fluger, brother-in-law Bruce Fluger.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at Noon at the Beyers Funeral Home, 134 North Highway 27/441 Lady Lake, FL. Burial will take place after the service with full American Legion military honors in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, with a memorial dinner served at the American Legion Post No. 347 in Lady Lake at 4:45 p.m.
