
James B. Stephany, 95, of The Villages in Lady Lake, FL, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 3, 2018. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 14, 1922.
He served in the Navy during WWII, working on the instruments of navy planes. He worked for 39 years at Honeywell Inc. on industrial temperature controls. He loved all sports; played golf, tennis, softball and was in two bowling leagues and was a great fan of the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers.
Mr. Stephany moved to The Villages from Horsham, PA in 1996. He was a former member of the Pennsylvania Club, the German American Club, the Model Train Club, the Deep Sea Fishing Club, Guys & Dolls Golf, Orange Blossom Men’s Golf Group, and Silver Lake Mens Golf Group. He was also a member of the American Legion and was proud to have gone on the Honor Flight in 2016.
Mr. Stephany is survived by his wife Dorothy; son G. Wayne and daughter Wendy, both of PA; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with military honors being afforded by American Legion Post #347.
