A Silver Springs motorcyclist died at a local hospital Tuesday morning after a collision with a pickup truck on County Road 314A.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Ephriam Stockman, 71, was riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when it was struck by a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 65-year-old Leon Davis of Ocala. Davis failed to stop at the red light at the intersection of State Road 40 and CR 314A and hit the left rear of Stockman’s motorcycle, the report says.
Stockman was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest in the inside westbound lane of SR 40. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 11 a.m. at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
