A Silver Springs woman was arrested early Wednesday morning after a deputy saw her attacking another woman outside the Stage Stop Inn.
According to a Marion County Sheriff’s Office report, Tara A. Eppinger, 24, was taken into custody and handcuffed just before 3:30 a.m. after the deputy pulled her off the other woman. The woman, who was bleeding from her mouth and left elbow, said Eppinger caused the injuries during the attack, the report says.
When asked why the attack happened, the woman told the deputy that Eppinger thought she was at the Stage Stop Inn, located at 5131 E. Hwy. 40, to sell her boyfriend drugs. Eppinger confirmed that story and told the deputy she was trying to get the woman to leave, the report says.
Eppinger was transported to the Marion County Jail and charged with battery. She was released Thursday morning after posting $1,000 bond.
