Connie Massey, 76, of The Villages, FL, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018. She was born and raised in Artesia, California and graduated from Artesia High School.
She was married to Farrell Massey, Benton, Arkansas, who was in the U.S. Navy. After her husband’s discharge from active duty, they relocated to Dallas, Texas. During the following thirty-five years, corporate transfers moved them from Texas to Arizona to Indiana to Massachusetts and finally to Cincinnati, Ohio. There, they retired, and moved to their fifteenth and final house in The Villages in 2000.
Connie began playing the piano at age seven. During her years in Boston and again in Cincinnati, she studied jazz and piano composition under several well known local musicians. In The Villages, she was one of the original organizers of the Piano Club and, for the past several years, she was a volunteer at The Villages Hospital, playing the piano in the main lobby and later in the new Surgical Center.
She loved Bridge and Golf. She accomplished a major ambition by making a hole-in-one on the difficult first hole of the Pelican golf Course.
In addition to her husband, Connie leaves behind her daughter Tracie and husband John Mucciarone; granddaughter Carly of Bellingham, MA; son Dean of Tamarack, FL and grandson Ryan of Cleveland, Ohio.
A gathering will be held at the Lady Lake Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Private graveside services for the family will be held at Florida National Cemetery at a later time.
