Lady Lake police were called to Romac on June 8 after employees there discovered what appeared to be an attempted theft of a company pickup truck.
An employee at the business, located at 722 Duck Lake Road, just off Rolling Acres Road, said he discovered that the entire top portion of the truck’s ignition lock shroud was broken away and the ignition lock was missing. He said another employee had attempted to fix the damage before the officer arrived, according to a police report.
The employee also said the damage could have been undiscovered for as long as two weeks. There were no keys in the vehicle and it had been left unlocked, the report said.
