Sarah Christine (Velasco) Curry, 86, of The Villages, FL, went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2018. She was born on March 20, 1932 in Ellicott City, MD.
After residing in the Falston, MD area and later in life in the Key West and Cutler Ridge, FL areas, she lived out her retirement years in The Villages in Central Florida. She passed away after a lengthy illness and will be missed by many. She attended St. Timothy Catholic Church and was a dedicated Prayer Warrior.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mr. William (Bill) Curry; her children; Christine “Jeri” Elsberry, Theresa Dixon-Brown; William Brian Curry; daughter-in-law, Becky Lathroum Oyler; sisters; Catherine Mink and Janet Keigler; sister-in-law, Alice Velasco; 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Curry was predeceased by her parents, Julius and Catherine (Rogers) Velasco, her son, Richard Lathroum, Jr., and her brother, Gilbert Velasco.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated in St. Timothy Catholic Church, The Villages on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sarah’s son, Richard Lathroum, Jr. to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
