June Nelson Turk, age 80, of Leesburg, Florida, died Monday, July 2, 2018. She was born October 16, 1937 in Fitchburg, MA.
She moved to South Florida in 1959 and Leesburg in 1979. After working 38 years as a police dispatcher for the Hollywood Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol and the Wildwood Police Department, she retired in October 2002. She did volunteer work for Joining Hands, Inc. since 2002 and also volunteered with The Salvation Army. June was also a member of The Optimist Club in Leesburg.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years C.F. Turk, 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 2 p.m., located at Page-Theus Funeral Home, 914 W. Main St., Leesburg, FL 34748.
