Carmella “Mel” Holmes, 51, of Summerfield, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2018. She was born on July 25, 1966 in South Bend, Indiana.
With her husband, they moved to sunny Florida in 2008, which she called paradise. She enjoyed her online clothing business and cleaning, even for others. She was a very caring person and received great joy in buying gifts for others and loved spending time with children. She was a strong woman of faith and attended The Oxford Assembly of God. More than anything she loved and had a strong relationship with God.
Survivors include husband of 27 years, Dennis Holmes; daughter Alisha Spears (Josh); son Steve Holmes (Ashley); parents Essie and Thomas Griffin; brother Thomas Griffin (Casandra); grandsons Graham and Anakyn; granddaughter Aryana; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved pups Rugar and Mardigirl.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11 a.m., located at The Oxford Assembly of God, 12114 N. U.S. Hwy. 301, Oxford, FL 34484.
