Helen G. Pope

Helen G. Pope

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen (Hellie) Pope, of Lady Lake, FL, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Although she lived much of her life in Lady Lake, she also loved and spent time with family on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. She was born May 22, 1927 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Helen was filled with gratitude and joy. She enjoyed being with friends whether to dance, laugh, go to the movies, or out to dinner. For the past 29 years, she was a well-known greeter at the local pool every Friday and Saturday morning. Helen was always giving and helping others, often those who needed a place to stay and be taken care of. This she did with kindness and a welcome heart.

She was predeceased by: her loving husband, Ralph; her siblings, James (Jim), Priscilla (Sis), Katherine (Kate), and Marie; and her beloved nephew, Jimmy. She leaves behind her nieces Barbara Nolan, Priscilla Sinatra, Joan and Janice Wall; nephews Jim and Bob Wall; her sister-in-law Nellie Wall; several grand nieces and nephews; and countless friends. She will be sincerely missed.

A special Mass celebrating Helen’s life will take place on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 8:30 a.m., at St. Timothy’s Church, 1351 Paige Place, Lady Lake, Florida 32159.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Helen’s name to Cornerstone Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, Florida 32162.
