A man who works at a Villages country club was arrested with marijuana at Lake Miona Recreation Center.
Nicholas Jon Ramsey, 29, of Belleview, had been driving a black 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo at 1:46 p.m. Thursday on Buena Vista Boulevard when his erratic driving caught the attention of a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy. He initiated a traffic stop at Lake Miona Recreation Center to determine if the driver was under the influence.
The deputy asked Ramsey to get out of the vehicle and immediately noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The deputy found a multi-colored glass pipe as well as a grinder containing marijuana on the passenger seat.
Ramsey was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000.
