Those interested in homeschooling are encouraged to attend this year’s Homeschool Expo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 at the public library headquarters, located at 2720 E. Silver Springs Blvd. in Ocala.
Attendees will receive helpful tips and learn about state requirements, best practices and resources from Vicki Leist, former District 3 director and chairman of the Florida Parent-Educators Association Scholarship Foundation. Homeschoolers also will be able to expand their networks by meeting with homeschool groups and receiving answers to many of their most pressing questions.
Homeschoolers also are encouraged to visit one of the Marion County public libraries to learn about the books, DVDs, programs and digital resources available for them.
