A speeding driver on U.S. 301 was arrested after he was caught driving without a license.
Cecilo Montalvo-Perez, 42, of Summerfield, was at the wheel of a silver Ford Taurus at 6:44 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 301 near the intersection of County Road 466 and was paced driving 53 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Montalvo-Perez presented the deputy with a Mexican identification card. A check revealed he has never had a driver’s license in the United States.
He was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $500 bond.
