The release of an accident report is shedding light on a collision Sunday afternoon involving a car and a golf cart at the Hemingway pool.

Sharon L. Jackson, 63, of the Village of Hemingway, had been at the wheel of a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse at 1 p.m. when she backed up and collided with a 2017 Yamaha golf cart driven by 71-year-old Diane Duncan Williams, also of the Village of Hemingway, according to an accident report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

A golf cart was towed from the scene of a crash Sunday afternoon at the Hemingway Pool.

Jackson said she did not see the golf cart

Williams suffered a large laceration on her right lower leg and was advised by an EMS crew that she needed stitches. She refused transport.

Jackson was ticketed on a charge of improper backing.

The golf cart was towed from the scene by Kart Aide.
