Four hospitalized after early-morning rollover crash in Ocala

Four victims – two on trauma alerts – were transported to Ocala-area hospitals Monday morning following a rollover crash at SW 10th Street and Pine Avenue.

Four patients had to be extricated from this heavily damaged sports utility vehicle after a crash Monday morning at the corner of SW 10th Street and Pine Avenue in Ocala.

When Ocala Fire Rescue crews arrived on scene, they found a heavily damaged sports utility vehicle on its roof with passengers trapped inside. There also was a damaged minivan and a utility pole on the ground that was taken out during the accident.

Crews quickly assessed the state of the four patients, stabilized the SUV and began extricating the victims. Once they were freed from the wreckage, EMS crews took over their care and transported them to area hospitals.

Officers from the Ocala Police Department and crews from Marion County Fire Rescue also provided assistance.
