To the Editor:

I was a surgical patient in the Villages hospital a year ago.
I spent eight hours in the recovery room, as they didn’t have a room for me.
When I finally was taken to a room about 5 p.m., there was no one around. There was no water, no supplies of any kind. My husband finally found someone who brought water.
I never saw a nurse until after 8 p.m.. She had no interest in caring for me. All she wanted to do was talk about her favorite sports team. I waited three hours for pain medication. When she finally came with my meds I told her that there was no excuse for me waiting three hours.
Her reply was she was off the floor and just didn’t get around to it. This was by far my worst hospital experience. I will never be a patient there again.
