A man driving with an injured right hand was arrested after making an illegal U-turn in Lady Lake.
Joshua Chandler, 30, of Summerfield, had been at the wheel of a red Volkswagen Jetta at 1:15 a.m. Sept. 14 when he made the illegal U-turn at County Road 25 and U.S. Hwy. 27/441, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. His driver’s license was suspended June 4 for being a habitual traffic offender, including an arrest earlier this year in Marion County. He also was wanted on a felony warrant charging him with grand theft and dealing in stolen property.
A passenger, 30-year-old Samantha Jo Cannova, of Ocala, was wanted on a Marion County warrant charging her with no valid driver’s license.
Chandler was transported to Waterman Hospital for treatment of his injury to his hand. The injury had occurred prior to the traffic stop. The Ohio native was later booked at the Lake County Jail.
Cannova was also taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail.
