Petrina’s recent iSparkle golf tournament raised $2,410 for scholarships – almost doubling the amount raised in last year’s event.

A total of 32 teams competed in the tourney. It was the fourth year of the event launched by the popular Villages entertainer.
The event was organized by Penny Schritz and was played on three executive golf courses in The Villages – Pimlico, Churchill Greens and Belmont. Teams enjoyed the scramble format and the breezy weather that kept everyone cool. And the golf management staff garnered praise for helping out and providing a gazebo and ice.
“Everyone got into the spirit of things of iSparkle and the theme once again being wear something sparkly,” Petrina said. “Some even wore real diamonds or maybe just a little twinkle on their socks. Some made their own T-shirts and even hats made out of paper for the team to wear.”

Petrina said she thoroughly enjoyed seeing such brightly colored clothing all over the golf courses. And she said the fun time and laughs continued into the evening at Fred Karimipour’s Belle Glade Country Club, where she entertained the crowd.
“We were able to completely fill up the breezeway with fun, dancing and auctions,” Petrina said.

Petrina said many items were successfully auctioned off, including Roberta Houchan’s poker night for $600. And she praised the “great job” done by auctioneer Sue Diffenderffer.
“Thanks again for everyone’s help and for making this happen,” she said. “Much love for everyone’s support.”
