It’s the age of witches and spirits. A clock in the wall is symbolic of the time left before Armageddon. A young boy, Lewis Baravelt (Owen Vaccaro), is an apprentice in witchery. He is guided by his light-hearted warlock uncle, Jonathan (Jack Black), while the world awaits possible destruction. Good and some evil battle throughout.
This movie is a second-rate attempt to copy or spoof the Harry Potter Franchise. Not even Cate Blanchette can save this show. Vanessa Williams (ex-Miss America) has a cameo role.
It is sci-fi set in an old castle in modern times focused on young adults. Do not waste your time or ticket price. The movie is currently playing at the Rialto Theater in the Villages. Rating D.
