Project Legacy, a nonprofit organization devoted to meeting the needs of local children, is hosting two patriotic concerts.
“An Honor to Our Veterans” will take place Sunday, Nov. 11. The shows, at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., will be held at Heritage Community Church, 509 W. Berckman St. in Fruitland Park. The cost to attend either show is $15, with proceeds benefiting Project Legacy and Beyond the Walls Food Pantry.
The concerts will feature Big Band-style Music by the Double M Band, along with popular Villages entertainers Billie Thatcher, Jan Lavin and Alex Santoriello.
“I am very excited to be able to honor the veterans in our community through such a talented group of entertainers,” Project Legacy President Kay Wilson said of the upcoming Veterans Day concerts.
Those wishing to purchase tickets can call Barbara Reynolds at (352) 217-8423. Organizers believe both shows will sell out so they are encouraging area residents to call for tickets soon. And local businesses that want to show their support are being asked purchase ad space in the program.
Project Legacy, founded in 2008, is a continuous supporter of Beyond the Walls Food Pantry, a local resource to the Fruitland Park community. Donations of non-perishable food items are being collected at the door to help support local needs.
Project Legacy’s goal is to secure finances and other resources that will assist in meeting the needs of various ongoing community projects that benefit children and youth.
