A man who said he’d been at City Fire has been sentenced in a crash this past summer in a roundabout in The Villages.
Timothy Ellis Clark, 59, of Summerfield, will lose his driver’s license for six months and has been placed on probation for one year as the result of a sentencing hearing Oct. 19 in Sumter County Court. He was also ordered to perform 50 hours of community service.
Clark’s Toyota pickup truck was found on the night of Aug. 3 on top of large bushes in the center of the roundabout at Morse Boulevard and Stillwater Trail. Clark refused to participate in field sobriety exercises and refused to provide a breath sample.
An inventory of his truck prior to towing turned up marijuana. He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a DUI test and possession of marijuana.
