Underage woman arrested with weed, wine after traffic crash in Wildwood

An 18-year-old Oxford woman was arrested with marijuana and a bottle of wine after a traffic crash Sunday morning in Wildwood.

Amber Marie Hernandez had been driving a gray Chrysler 300 involved in a traffic accident at about 7 a.m. at County Road 209 and County Road 462, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy found a plastic bag containing marijuana outside the driver’s door of the vehicle. A backpack in the vehicle’s trunk was found to contain another bag of marijuana and an unopened bottle of Arbor Mist merlot.

Hernandez was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and underage possession of liquor.

She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,500 bond.
