Smash-and-grab burglaries reported at two businesses at Grand Traverse Plaza

Law enforcement is investigating a pair of smash-and-grab burglaries at two businesses at Grand Traverse Plaza in The Villages.

The burglaries occurred between 2:30 and 5 a.m. Friday at EyeSite of The Villages and the Hair Cuttery.

Wildwood police were at the scene of the burglaries at Grand Traverse Plaza in The Villages.

The glass front doors were broken at the businesses which are next to other.

Video surveillance at EyeSite of The Villages showed two men in dark clothing. The surveillance footage has been turned over to Wildwood police.

Police have been called in other recent incidents at Grand Traverse Plaza:

A man was arrested at Subway in August after lying about his identity.

A Villager was arrested in that same month after a violent confrontation with a man and his children in a golf cart.

The lead driver at Flippers Pizzeria was arrested in July after she was caught driving on a suspended license. Her car sat for months behind the restaurant after her arrest.
