Megan Boone using celebrity status to influence recount in Florida

Actress Megan Boone is using her celebrity status to try to influence the ballot recounts in Florida.

“The Blacklist” star has encouraged Floridians to sign up as volunteers to help in the hand recount involving U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson’s efforts to hang onto this seat. She is also urging Floridians to volunteer for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

On her Twitter feed, the great-granddaughter of Villages founder Harold Schwartz has also retweeted a story from the progressive news magazine AlterNet under the heading, “Rick Scott Freaks Out, Accuses Liberals of Trying to Steal Election by Counting Everyone’s Votes.”

Prior to the election, Boone used her Twitter feed to show her support for Democratic candidate for governor Andrew Gillum.

Boone’s family, including mother Jennifer Parr and uncle Mark Morse, have been strong financial backers of Gov. Scott.
