A man who was wanted in connection with a recent Ocala bank robbery is in police custody.
Myron William Ernst, who is accused of robbing the Wells Fargo bank at 3201 SW College Road last Tuesday, was pulled over for a traffic violation in Lakeland on Thursday. He provided officers with his driver’s license and was taken into custody once they confirmed his identity. The Ocala Police Department has charged Ernst with attempted armed robbery.
Ernst also is believed to have committed an armed bank robbery in Lakeland this past Monday. He was wanted by the FBI for a total of seven bank holdups between Florida and Alabama and the agency had been offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to his arrest.
