Future home of Darrell’s Diner one step closer in Lady Lake

The future home of a new Darrell’s Diner is one step closer to a groundbreaking after a vote Monday night by Lady Lake.

The two-story building, to be known as Teague Plaza, would be located on County Road 25, about 650 feet north of its intersection with Griffin Avenue. The address would be 1124 Teague Plaza, across the street from Lady Lake Church at the Springs.

Monday’s vote will allow waivers on landscaping and the number of parking spaces.

The building would include a diner and retail on the first floor and six apartments on the second floor.

The building is a project of Lawrence Breech’s T-Lynne Properties LLC. Breech is an investor in several area Darrell’s Diner locations.

Residents of The Villages have previously spoken out against the diner project, concerned about noise, traffic and light pollution. However, no one spoke against the project Monday night.
