Leo Peter Mullen, of Lady Lake, Florida, passed away at The Villages Regional Hospital November 19, 2018 at the age of 86. Born October 12, 1932 to George and Helen (Delany) Mullen in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, he was the youngest of four sons.
In High School, he excelled at sports. Playing baseball, football, and basketball with equal fervor.
He joined the Army from 1953-1955 and trained as a tank commander stationed in Germany.
He was also an avid golfer and this became his chosen profession.
In 1967, after obtaining his golf teaching certificate, was hired as an assistant pro at Overbrook Country Club in Bryn Mawr, PA. Two years later he became the head golf pro at Chester Valley Country Club in Frazer, PA where he remained until 1982. He then worked for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board as an assistant manager till 1998.
His interests included sports, reading, crossword puzzles, and classic movies.
He is survived by his two sons Jeffrey and Scott Mullen. He was preceded in death by his three older brothers George, Tom, and Jim.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St Timothy Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, The Villages, FL 32159 on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.
